Crock Pot Alphabet Soup

Just because your grown up doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy one of your favorite foods you ate as a kid. This Crock Pot Alphabet Soup is the grown up version of your favorite canned soup from childhood.

Crock Pot Alphabet Soup with beef stew meat is the adult version of that favorite childhood canned soup.

Oh to be a kid again. Can you remember slurping up alphabet soup as a kid? Did you like plain alphabet soup, alphabet soup with weenies or alphabet soup with mini meatballs?

I was partial to the canned alphabet soup with mini meatballs in it. I loved fishing those tiny little meatballs out of the thick tomato soup.

If you want to make a kid version of this crock pot alphabet soup recipe you could. Just leave out the beef stew meat and slice up some hot dogs, put all the ingredients into the slow cooker (affiliate link-I used my 4-quart crock pot slow cooker) except the pasta.

Once all the ingredients are piping hot add the sliced hot dogs and cook until heated through. The kids will love it!

How to make Crock Pot Alphabet Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean beef stew meat
  • 14 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 14 oz can tomato sauce

  • 15 oz can mixed vegetables, drained
  • 1/2 cup Alphabet shaped pasta

Directions

  1. Put the first 4 ingredients into a 3 quart crock pot.
  2. Cook on low 5-6 hours or high 3-4 hours.
  3. Add the mixed vegetables and pasta to the crock pot and cook until the vegetables are heated through and the pasta is cooked el dente, about 30 minutes.
  4. If soup is overly thick add 1/2 to 1 cup of water.
  5. Salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Makes 4-6 servings.

Cooking doesn’t have to be a daunting task and this Crock Pot Alphabet Soup is proof.

With its simple ingredients and easy instructions, this soup is perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekends. So next time you’re in a pinch, don’t reach for takeout or pre-made meals. Instead, grab your trusty Crock Pot and some alphabet pasta and whip up this delicious and nourishing soup in no time.

And don’t be afraid to get creative with your toppings or mix in some extra veggies to make it even more nutritious.

This is a very basic recipe. I added fresh onions, celery and garlic. Also using frozen veggies instead of canned. To season it i added garlic salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. It was pretty good. But it would have been very bland without the additions i added to it. But great starter recipe. Thanks.
